Youth Mental Health First Aid is a groundbreaking prevention program. The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges that are common among adolescents and young adults. YMHFA is implemented around the U.S. and the world. Research has shown that the training enhances behavioral health literacy, reduces stigma, increases knowledge of professional and self-help resources, increases participants' confidence helping in a crisis situation, and improves behavioral health of participants.

This Youth Mental Health First Aid virtual training consists of 2-hours of online self-paced content followed by 6 hours of instructor-led training via Zoom. Developmental Pathways, a Colorado Community Center Board, is funding this training for caregivers, parents, PASAs, non-profits, and direct service providers serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties. Five training seats not filled by CO caregivers and direct service providers are filled on a first-come, first-served basis by registering and paying the $55 training fee at https://forms.gle/KgERcnPwSuo7Yx1CA.
