Mental Health first aid is an evidence-based, public health training program that teaches participants the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges or crisis, what to do in an emergency, and where to turn for help. MHFA is implemented around the U.S. and the world. Research has shown that the training reduces stigma, enhances behavioral health literacy, and improves participants' behavioral health.

Adult Mental Health First Aid is offered in two parts.

Part one is the Adult Mental Health First Aid 2-hour, a self-paced training course on the MHFA USA learning management system. You must complete all of the 2-hour self-paced course by noon, Friday, November 4, to participate in the November 10 live online training.

Part Two is the live training on Zoom on November 10 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Developmental Pathways, a Colorado Community Center Board, is funding this training for caregivers and direct service providers serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties. If this applies to you, please email MHFA Instructor Amy directly at info@mhiministries.org.

Additional training seats not filled by CO caregivers and direct service providers are filled on a first-come, first-served basis by registering and paying the $50 training fee at https://forms.gle/xXxshz3LRsXaPZkWA.

  • The remaining $25 covers the cost of the live, 6-hour Adult MHFA training via Zoom on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 9 am to 4 pm.

At the end of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognized Adult MHFA certification good for three years and registration as a certified First Aider in the MHFA USA database.
